I’m getting ready to preach the third installment of our “Clash” series on the Beatitudes and taking a quick break.  I know it sounds crazy, but I think we somehow forget that Jesus set up His kingdom based on values and ethics that completely oppose those of the world.  In our forgetfulness we find end up embracing some of the very things that God has asked us to guard ourselves from. We go on living defeated lives. Putting far too much faith in ourselves and far to little faith in God.  We never leave a mark or have an impact because we lose the awe of God that motivates us to live lives of impact.

The Beatitudes remind us of who we are and who He is. They challenge us to own up to our citizenship.  I’m excited to be back preaching them tomorrow.  I’m praying that God uses this study to uncluttered our lives and ground us in Him and Him alone. 

An excerpt from Easter Sunday on the Plan of Redemption.  In no matter what we face “today” the believer can always lift their eyes to a “someday”.

Reflections of Easter 2012

I had such a great Easter this year and have so much to be thankful for!

1) I’m so thankful to the Lord for His Mercy and Grace!  His Pardon, His Presence and His Plan!

2) Thankful for the kTeams at Kingsfield who went above and beyond to make it all happen. Being stretched out in to two services and bringing it with only the best! Everyone did an amazing job!

3) Was so proud of the Worship/Media teams and all that went into pulling off the creative and powerful elements involved in yet another amazing service.  Were working toward making our entire services available online so you can always go back and catch it all.

4) So thankful and excited for all those who surrendered their lives to the Lord this past Sunday.  We saw more salvation’s last Sunday then we have ever seen on a weekend.  Lives were changed by the Gospel for the Glory of God.

Thank you to all those who were praying with us, and thank you Lord!

There are 3.2 million people in Orange County and God see’s everyone of them as an individual that He loves and cares for more then they could ever imagine.  Individuals that He desires to impact with the Gospel in a very personal and profound life transforming way. I’m praying that God would use us this Easter to each those who are far from Him that they might be brought near! Kingsfield, God has placed around each one of us those that He loves and cares for. Let’s be praying for them and take steps toward being used in the process of bringing them to Jesus.   Our “God’s Heart for You” series begins April 1st with special guest music from Esterlyn.  Then on Easter we have three services; a 6:30am family sunrise service then a 9am and 11am Celebration service. Let’s get the word out and may God’s work this year exceed even our greatest expectations! Loveology Q&A

As part of Kingsfields Loveology series my wife Tatum and I spent some time after the message answering questions about love, dating, marriage and romance. We got some great questions in this first round and as always sought to point everything to Gods Word.  For those of you who want to hear it this is the link to the audio.

At Kingsfield we recently launched a new series that we entitled “loveology”.  So many people have experienced so much hurt when it comes to the areas of love, dating, romance, marriage and sexuality. I believe a lot of that pain is due to the fact that we’ve allowed the world to become too loud and the church to become too silent. In the silence we’ve given room for Satan to have a hay day, robbing purity, breaking hearts, destroying marriages and homes.  God’s word is not silent in addressing these issues and neither should we be. There is simply far too much at risk!  My wife Tatum and I have been married now for almost 15 years.  I’ve been in love with her for 20, it took me 5 years to win her heart, but that’s a different story!  We successfully navigated the “looking years” and our dating relationship. We were both sexually pure when we married and set the Lord as the foundation of our relationship from the beginning.  We tied the knot in marriage, have three kids and are enjoying our God given adventure together.  Very much in love and having tons of fun. We don’t have it all figured out and I don’t want to paint that picture… but what we do know is that God has it all figured out and if your are willing to embrace His principals for your life then He can and will work! He can and will work in bringing Mr. or Mrs. right around in His timing.  He will work in helping you capitalize on your singleness for the kingdom in the meantime. He can help work in keeping your purity before marriage and can work in restoring your brokenness if you’ve fallen sexually.  He can work in healing your marriage or picking up the pieces after a divorce. Our desire in this series is to see God get a hold of you no matter where you are at in your relational journey and set you apart for Himself. To work in your relationship for your good and His Glory.  As we move through the Song of Solomon Tatum and I will be taking some time to answer any questions you have regarding love, romance, dating, marriage and sex.  if you have questions let us know.  loveology part 3 is this weekend, Don’t miss it!

At Kingsfield we closed out the “Against All Odds” Series with a focus on praying prayers that are rooted in the fact that God is able.  Prayers that believe Ephesians 3:20.  To see God make the impossible possible in our lives we first need to realize that we can do NOTHING on our own and then need to TRUST HIM in every way. A simple way to measure our trust is to examine our PRAYER LIFE and OBEDIENCE. This is a 6min excerpt form the study that I hope challenges and inspires you to TRUST GOD!

We serve a God who works against all odds!  No matter what comes our way in life there exists for the believer a “yet God” dynamic that presses us past what is and into what could be.  The same “yet God” dynamic that was present in every biblical miracle exists in our lives today.  Think of Moses and the children of Israel, pressed up against the Red Sea with no way out… yet God!   Think of Peter getting ready to step out of the boat and sink like a rock… Yet God!  The marriage seams to have lost it’s spark… yet God!  An addiction seams to be unbreakable… yet God!  I’ve made some really bad decisions… yet God!  My dreams seam to be too big… yet God! Yet God is “able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us!” (Eph. 3:20)  That gang is Kingsfield’s scripture for 2012…  Actually let’s go ahead and claim that one for the rest of this decade!  Gang, we need to let the truth of how big God is ignite courageous faith in our hearts.   The kind of faith that’s willing to take bold steps for the Glory of God. At Kingsfield we are believing God on His word and giving it all we got.  It’s been an amazing year so far, and it’s only just the beginning.  What is the impossible situation that God want’s to make possible in your life today?
